Rootzoo Celebrates Its First Birthday

On June 2nd, 2007, exactly a year ago to this day, RootZoo as you know it today was born. The official version of the site launched on a Saturday afternoon. RootZoo’s beta community was about 300 members, and included mostly friends of ours (and friends of theirs), but there were a few RootZooers you may very well know today who were a part of the site from the very start. Members like Pennywise, Showstoppa, EC4EVER, and a few other true originals helped to pave the way for the site’s growth. As I’m sure you can imagine, this concept only works when there are other people here to respond to your threads, vote in your polls, vote in your RootOffs, and more. These originals were brave enough to believe in us from the start, and endured the days where the site’s most active threads had just 6 replies!

Thanks to a new generation of RootZooers that quickly joined after the site’s launch (allsportsplaya1, dugoutstories, Po, wpm5587, 50 CENT, wiZo,

Concrete Testing Fraud Streams Through Nyc & Connecticut

After New York City experienced the crane accidents, they are no longer ready and willing to take any chances with construction mishaps. Eyes were opened and lights were shone on the cracks that the construction industry in their foundation. Whether it is poor training, shoddy equipment, or lack of safety standards, New York City has taken notice and have started to do something about it. However, even through the city’s efforts, there has been evidence to show that a New York City’s concrete testing lab has falsified reports and findings. Connecticut has also been seeing this outflow from the city pouring into neighborhoods of their own. How is the city supposed to make any strides to becoming clear, brighter, greater if its own citizens claiming to aid in the effort are sabotaging it.

Testwell Laboratories was the company hired to do its service on some of the city’s buildings. Testwell Laboratories was hired in the past

Bronx Car Accident Lawyer Can Save You From All the Hassles

When I think of the Bronx what comes to mind is the Yankee Stadium, Botanical Gardens, the Bronx Zoo, and heavy accents. What I don’t think about is the large number of auto accidents that occur in the Bronx. There is so much construction, building, and remodeling going on to keep the Bronx fresh and clean that it often provides an arena for many auto accidents. Since it’s proximity is so close to the remaining boroughs, commuting is something that practically everyone does. Communing to other parts of the city often involves trains, busses, and walking. However autos are what is filling the roads offering short distance services to its consumers that involves a lot of stopping and going. Taxi drivers will make all sorts of sudden movements when they see a hand go up on the sidewalk wanting a ride. This is a major cause for auto accidents in the Bronx, and if you have been involved in one contact a Bronx car accident lawyer today.

Sports Memorabilia Value: What?s it Really Worth?

“I have a Derek Jeter autographed baseball. How much is it worth?” We hear this question all the time.  Everybody wants to know how much money they can get for their sports memorabilia. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple to determine.

The short answer is, and the answer that many sports memorabilia dealers tell their customers, is that your sports memorabilia is worth what someone is willing to pay you for it! Although this answer is simple enough, there is a way to determine the value of an item.  It may not be what we can sell the item for, but we certainly can find out what similar items have sold for.

Let’s take the Derek Jeter autograph baseball as an example.  We are at Yankee Stadium and Jeter is signing autographs on the rail before the game. We toss him a ball, and low and behold, he signs it. It’s our lucky day! We happened to be in the right place at the right time.  We now own Derek Jeter autograph

Blogging: Thing You Should Know About Defamation

Currently there are over 30 million blogs on the internet and thousands more being created each week. Assuming ownership of one blog per person, that’s a minimum of 30 million people slinging around their personal opinions on all that exists under the sun. This is a good thing. The free exchange of thoughts and ideas is what prevents the world from becoming a stagnant pool of dictatorship with the appropriate green scum floating on top.

However, to steal a line from the movie Spiderman, ‘With great power comes great responsibility’. Blogging has become a way for the voice of the people to be heard. We must be careful, though, not to abuse our power through thoughtless acts that hurt the credibility of bloggers and blogging. One place that continues to be our Achilles heel is when good posts go bad. For more details go to www.blogers-guide-to-profit.com.
In the United States, libel and slander are the two categories of defamation. In many

New York City: Take a Bite out of the Big Apple

There is no place in the world quite like New York City. That’s one reason it plays host to more tourists from more places than just about anywhere else on earth. There are so many things to see and do in New York City that you shouldn’t even try to see and do them all in one visit. If this is your first visit, here are some of the places you should consider for your itinerary.

Times Square: This square is not shaped like a square, but it is named for the New York Times, which has had its headquarters there since 1924. This area features an amazing kaleidoscope of sights and sounds. It’s a short walk from here to the theatres of Broadway, and there are more dining and shopping options than you can shake a menu at.

Statue of Liberty: Frederic Auguste Bartholdi’s most famous sculpture, a gift to the United States from France, has welcomed generations of immigrants to America. From the observation desk, you can get a good look at the New York City
